Star Wars Jedi Survivor Will Address One Major Problem From The First Game
By Alleef Ashaari|February 7, 2023|0 Comment
It seems like EA’s Respawn Entertainment has listened to feedback and complaints from players of 2019’s Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, thereby solving an issue from the first game and implementing it in the upcoming Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
In an interview with Play Magazine (via GamesRadar), Star Wars Jedi Survivor director Stig Asmussen said that the sequel will feature both fast travel and mounts as new mechanics.
The lack of fast travel in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order was one of the few issues in what was (and still is) a phenomenal game. The game encouraged players to backtrack and return to older areas after progressing further, which is a common Metroidvania mechanic. However, since there was no fast travel, players were forced to start at the beginning on every planet they revisited, which translated to a lot of wasted time simply manually backtracking.
Asmussen said:
“We will feature both fast travel and rideable creatures to help players quickly get from point A to B, and back to A. The fast-travel is point to point, and the rideable creatures offer a way to quickly negotiate between points and explore what is in between.”
That’s interesting. What will Cal ride on? Tauntauns like Luke Skywalker? A rancor like Boba Fett? Anything is possible.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor will now launch for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 28 April 2023.
Picking up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight. Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times is closing in – with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our full review of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order here to find out why we named it one of the best games of 2019.
