A New Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Is Coming

Bandai Namco has announced a new Dragon Ball Z game, and it’s a possible reboot of an old fighting game.

The company showed a teaser of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi during the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2022/2023 Finals recently. There is neither a platform nor a release date announced for the game.

The teaser shows off Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form in the game’s possible new engine after showing off the first Budokai Tenkaichi. That’s the teaser, really.

The last time a Budokai Tenkaichi came out, there were four of them on the PS2 and Wii back in the 2000s. The last game, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, came out in 2007, so it’s been 16 years since one of these 3D battlers have been made. Then again, there hasn’t been a 3D fighting game in the Dragon Ball universe that dealt with the Dragon Ball Super story arcs, so now’s a good a time as any to start announcing such projects.
