Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth – The Best Way To Get Money

Money in Japanese role-playing games is important. And in a game with the word “wealth” in the title, the latest Like A Dragon/Yakuza title does require you to have a good amount of it.

In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, money means paying for Jobs you can use in your party, money to summon Poundmates to help you out in a jam, and money to buy equipment and outfit your team. Also, your cash carries over in New Game+, so it’s best to get as much as you can within Story Mode.

Here are a few tips on how to speed up your money-farming, and boosting it to higher heights.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Where To Find Lucky Money Charm

Like in past games, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth will let you get charms that will boost your money-gaining. This item is called the Lucky Money Charm.

To do this, you should interact with the Shrine mascot over in Honolulu’s Little Japan. Players will be tasked to find and return Fortunes around town in exchange for unique and powerful accessories from the trade-in shop. One of the early accessories to get is the Lucky Money Charm, which increases gold earned from battle by about 15%. Set this on one of your protagonists, and play through the game’s story and side quests (all of them). You’ll eventually get to grinding more money than usual without the charm.

Get To Sujimon Training

To get into the Sujimon minigame, you need to start Substory 37: Choosing Your Starter to get the whole shebang going, around Chapter 4. Ichiban will eventually battle against other Sujimon Trainers from Rookie through higher ranks like Platinum. You can also spar against random trainers at Suji Spots.

While the initial Sujimon battles won’t net you much money, you’ll eventually get a strong enough team to use against Platinum Sujimon Trainers. Each victory against a Platinum Sujimon Trainer will earn you $1,000, which isn’t too bad the amount of credit you get in the earlier parts of the game.

Improve Dondoko Island

In Chapter 6, Ichiban will gain access to Dondoko Island. This elaborate minigame has you managing an island resort from bottom to top. If this sounds a bit too much like Animal Crossing, that’s because it is, just with Like A Dragon characters & inane humour.

Much like the rice cracker Business Management minigame in Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Dondoko Island resort can earn you a lot of passive income for Ichiban if you invest loads of time in it. To earn money in Dondoko Island means:

  • Inviting and entertaining the many guests that visit the resort. The happier they are, the more Dokobucks you earn, which then gets converted into real cash for Ichiban and co.
  • Convert the money yourself, though early on, it’s best to save Dokobucks for resort upgrades and new buildings.

Just think of the resort as a long-term investment; you’ll earn more passive income the longer you play the game.

Fight In Hawaiian Haunt And Yokohama Underground

These two dungeons are the most straightforward way to earn more money in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Hawaiian Haunt unlocks at Chapter 5 while Yokohama Underground unlocks at Chapter 10. Not only do you earn money, but also a good amount of EXP for leveling up.

Sections of these dungeons can be retried for every 5 floors you progress through, and you can leave at any time, so there’s not much risk or loss involved. Progressing through Sector 3 or unlocking the EX Sector means regular enemies will start dropping $3,000 per encounter, regardless of whether you outlevel the enemy or not. It does pay to see through each Sector through to the end if you want the most pay out of your dungeon-grinding (as well as EXP).
