We Might Be Getting A Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Game With Single-Player This Year

Despite massive layoffs, Activision Blizzard announced in their earnings report that a new Call of Duty game is coming out this year. The game is said to have a key feature missing from the previous entry: a single-player campaign mode.

Activision spilt the beans on this one by offering very high-level insight on the game, saying that veterans and newcomers would enjoy the game. They added that it is a “great step forward” for the series, as well as to say that it’s rooted in the Call of Duty pedigree, implying that it would be a sequel to an existing game.

Speaking to Gamespot, Activision confirmed that the new game will have a campaign mode, unlike its predecessor, Black Ops 4. Activision also confirms that the new game will have a “huge expansive multiplayer world,” as well as “fun co-op gameplay.” We’ll see more details in the next months or so.

Johnson of Activision said that they have high expectations of the game. With that said, Activision still has their reservations by predicting that sales of the mysterious game will be lower than 2018’s Black Ops 4. However, it must be said that Black Ops 4 is their best-selling game, so a decline in sales is expected.

It is rumoured that the new game is Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward. The title has been going on a three-year, three-studio development schedule. Therefore, 2019 is the expected window for something to come from Infinity Ward.
