Is Maxsoft Jacking Up Prices For Updated Nintendo Switches In Asia?
Nintendo has rolled out updated Nintendo Switch models starting this month that features a longer battery life than the previous model. The best part? It costs the exact same as the previous model.
Unless you’re in Southeast Asia, in which case bully for you. A Facebook post from retailer Play Ah! (via NintendoSoup) states that it’s selling the “1st gen” and “2nd gen” Nintendo Switch with different prices. The former is SG$399 while the latter is SG$455. That’s a SG$56 price difference for those keeping score.
So who is in charge of this price jack? All signs seem to point at Nintendo Southeast Asian distributors Maxsoft so far for Brunei and Singapore. The company has yet to reply to Kakuchopurei at this point of writing whether this is an official mandate in pricing or not.
