How Pro And Amateur FPS Players See Differently In Shooters
Ever wonder why you’re good or terrible at first-person shooters? One main factor is what you see while playing a shooter like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or Overwatch.
A study from Nikkei posted a few clips tracking an FPS vision during a game of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Both the pro player (Libalent Vertex’s Leisia, who hails from one of the most successful Japanese CoD teams)Â and the amateur player wore glasses with infrared sensors and cameras.

The difference is basically night and day. Basically on the test, if the middle red dot on-screen gets bigger, it means your focus of sight is fixed.
Leisia’s focus of sight is completely fixed, meaning the red dot got big for a sec before switching around. It was basically stable throughout the map, with him being aware of the sounds and sights, focusing only on whatever was necessary.
