Netflix Renews The Witcher For A Second Season

About a month ahead of its slated first season premiere, Netflix has already announced the renewal for a second season of The Witcher. According to the streaming service, The Witcher Season 2 will begin production in early 2020 in London for a planned debut in 2021.

Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer Of Vengerberg) and Freya Allan (Ciri) are confirmed to return for the second season, which will also consist of eight (8) episodes just like the first season.

Hissrich has previously mentioned that she has plans for seven seasons of The Witcher, so this is a great step towards making that a reality.

The Witcher is slated to release on 20 December 2019.

The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in a tweet:

“I’m so thrilled to announce: Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri will be back for more adventures… in Season Two.

I could not be more proud of what the amazing cast and crew of The Witcher have accomplished, and can’t wait for the world to dig in and enjoy these stories with us.”
