Any executive and video game publisher who think that single-player gaming content is dead may need to re-evaluate their life choices. As if games like Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Spider-Man aren’t proof enough that single-player action-adventure titles are indeed moneymakers, along comes Respawn’s Star Wars game to hit that point home.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now EA’s fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game, as well as the best-selling Star Wars PC game. EA bragged about the game’s success; a first since it had the licensing deal in 2013.

Wonder if they did anything to celebrate the two Star Wars Battlefront games and its many innovations?

So What Have We Learned From This?

• If you give people a great Star Wars game that doesn’t have meaningless grinding and silly paywalls, people will love you and buy the game. It’s that simple.
• EA shareholders who meddle in game production, development, and marketing affairs don’t know what the flying f*** they’re talking about when they want “live service” games for EVERYTHING they’re making.
• People kinda forgot about Bioware’s other Star Wars game, the one called Star Wars The Old Republic. That’s arguably the best Star Wars game for the past 7 years.
