90s Rural Indonesian Point-&-Click Adventure Is Available Now In Demo Form
We checked out Coffee Talk from Toge Productions and it was really fun. So naturally, we look forward to anything they’re either developing or publishing. Well, if you want more slice-of-life games set in esoteric locations, you may want to check out A Space for the Unbound.
The adventure game is developed by Mojiken Studio and published by Toge Productions, and is set in a 90s rural Indonesia backdrop. The game comes with themes of anxiety, depression, and childhood friendship, with a supernatural twist on top. If that sounds like a rockin’ good time for you, the demo is out now on Steam.
The demo is about 20 to 30 minutes long, and it does tug at your heartstrings with its story of innocent days in a Southeast Asian countryside-esque area. It’s also got a nifty 90s visual art style reminiscent of SCUMM-made adventure games made back in the day. Just experiencing this Makoto Shinkai-inspired game makes me want to recap all the best adventure games out there in that glorious-yet-saturated period.
Seriously, check it out now. It’s quite a chill yet mysterious game. There’s no release date yet though, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye on this hidden gem of an indie title.
