Bleeding Edge Character Guide: How To Get Good In This PvP Brawler
By Kakuchopurei|March 30, 2020|0 Comment
Role: Ranged DPS, Harasser
Plays Like: Doomfist from Overwatch, Akali and Shen from League of Legends.
How To Play: Bird Legs here dies pretty fast, so make sure she’s out of range and also not being targeted. Use Swoop and Rake to evade and attack, as well as push back enemies for space. Use Hightail when you need a quick getaway. She’s also one of the few characters who can Charge Jump out and into trouble.
Both her Dive Bomb and Blade Dance Supers are useful regardless of the party setup. It’s whether you want to be temporarily invincible via Dive Bomb’s activation or want to risk it by navigating around a crowded battlefield via Blade Dance.
Role: DPS/Support
Plays Like: Taric and Sona from League of Legends, Nature’s Prophet from Dota 2.
How To Play: Want a healer who doubles as an ass-kicker melee character? Miko can fill up that role. Use Chain Heal and Kinetic Shield to protect your team while you deal attacks alongside your main DPS and Tanks. Her Regenerator passive lets you heal allies with each staff impact from your combos.
Pick the Stalker Super always. Having a passive invisibility buff that heals briefly is pretty useful, especially when it comes with a quick “reveal all” map feature.
Role: Ranged/Support
Plays Like: A cross between a healer and a debuffer. A mix between your Dota 2 Lich/Vengeful Spirit and your Wisps.
How To Play: The robot talking snake is best for players who like harassers and mage characters in other MOBAs, but with a more action-like feel. Cast Sacred Ground whenever a team fight happens; your Tank and DPSs will thank you for it. Add in Good Omen casts if you think you can get away with it.
Good enemy teams will always try to target a nearby Kulev, so make it a habit to snake around your Tanks before getting away and casting your spells. If you know how to keep away from a fight while helping out, opt for the Bamboozle Super. Works best if you’re fighting near a cliffside so you can make your possessed hero commit suicide.
Role: Ranged/Support
Plays Like: A ranged healer with a wall ability. Think of a mix between Overwatch’s Mercy and Mei.
How To Play: The best kind of healer should come with a barrier that can hinder foes and help you out. Zero Cool comes with a Firewall ability that can block enemies giving chase and foes trying to escape. For the latter, this is perfect for your DPS and Tanks to defeat trapped enemies.
Summon your Bot so that you can spot oncoming stealth players like Daemon, then warn your team so that they’re ready. But above all, keep recharging your team with health so that they’re always health in a fight. Protip: you can use Recharge on the other side of your Firewall. You can also use your ranged attack through said wall of your own creation.
If you see stragglers, use your ranged attack to ping them, but don’t give chase. Your priority is still your team’s well-being, especially your Tanks. Make sure to practice strafing and getting to know your Recharge’s range so that you can be at max distance while not being under fire. Or fists.
Both of Zero Cool’s Supers are good. You can’t go wrong with either one, though if you aren’t that hot with active skills, maybe go for Upgrade Protection.
Role: Melee Tank, Support
Plays Like: Dota 2’s Earthshaker but with two stances.
How To Play: Toggle stances whenever you can and fast. Heal when you’re damaged, then switch stances straight away to get a speed advantage over other characters. You’re not going to chase after Daemon and Maeve, so focus on other Tanks and melee combatants.
Role: Tank
Plays like: Dota 2’s Pudge, but easier on the eyes. Don’t judge.
How To Play: She’s a Tank with an easy game plan: just yank the nearest weak hero, cast oil slick, and perform whip lash in that order. She can’t evade like the rest of the cast, but she can Burl, which makes her move faster and regenerate health. She can’t turn well while Burling, but she can give chase while healing a tad.
Between her two Supers, we would go with Turbo Charged. Nothing is scarier than a Tank that has a damage and health buff with lifesteal. Works well with Zero Cool’s defensive Supers.
Role: Tank
Plays Like: Overwatch’s Road Hog, minus the hook but with a pounce attack that more or less has the same effect.
How To Play: El Bastardo is a tank that sustains himself if you keep attacking and casting Empower. He gains shield energy every time he attacks, so he needs to be in the offensive and take the brunt of the damage for the team.
Use Leap of Faith to enter the fray, then Death Spiral your way around the field while using simple combos on a high priority target. Let your DPS handle the overall damage output; you just need to get everyone’s attention.
Further that presence and threat generation with the Unbreakable Super. While the Overload damage output is nice, being an unkillable killing machine is pretty nifty.
