You’ll Need A Decent Rig & Massive Space For Microsoft Flight Sim
By Alleef Ashaari|April 22, 2020|0 Comment
Microsoft Flight Simulator is making its triumphant return in 2020, though it still doesn’t have a definitive release date as of yet. Previous games have often required powerful PC rigs to run them, so one might assume that it’d be the same case for the latest one.
Well, thankfully, the answer is no.
The minimum specs for Microsoft Flight Simulator are fairly reasonable. Despite that, the developer has also provided the ‘recommended’ and ‘ideal’ tiers, which demands considerably better specs. However, the two biggest caveats are actually regarding the amount of storage space and bandwidth.
Microsoft Flight Simulator requires a whopping 150 GB storage space on your hard drive, which would be a strain especially for those with smaller SSDs. That’s not all, as due to the online nature of the game, a stable internet connection is also required at all times, which is why the bandwidth is included in the specs.
Check out the full spec requirements for Microsoft Flight Simulator below:
CPU:Â Ryzen 3 1200 / Intel i5-4460
GPU:Â Radeon RX 570 / NVIDIA GTX 770
VRAM:Â 2GB
RAM:Â 8GB
HDD:Â 150GB
Bandwidth:Â 5 Mbps
CPU:Â Ryzen 5 1500X / Intel i5-8400
GPU:Â Radeon RX 590 / Nvidia GTX 970
VRAM:Â 4GB
RAM:Â 16GB
HDD:Â 150GB
Bandwidth:Â 20 Mbps
CPU:Â Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X / Intel i7-9800X
GPU:Â Radeon VII / Nvidia RTX 2080
VRAM:Â 8GB
RAM:Â 32GB
HDD:Â 150GB (SSD recommended)
Bandwidth:Â 50 Mbps
If you think the specs are daunting, it’s worth pointing out that Microsoft Flight Simulator is incredibly ambitious, as it aims to feature every single airport on Earth (37,000 of them) in a shared online multiplayer world.
