These New Nioh 2 Patches Are Nerfing The Game Even More
By Alleef Ashaari|April 1, 2020|0 Comment
Team Ninja’s Nioh 2 has been out for almost three weeks, and it’s already received several patches to make the game a lot easier than it was at launch. I should know, since I reviewed the game and have been playing it since the beginning, having obtained the Platinum trophy just last night.
The developer has released the full patch notes for the game’s latest 1.07 update. Like the previous 1.05 update, there’s no actual new content to speak of, but instead features a lot of nerfing adjustments and bug fixes. Firstly, many of the game’s notoriously-difficult optional sub-missions have been made easier, reducing their difficulty.
Previously, even normal Yokai and human enemies could potentially one-shot or kill players in a single hit even if they’re over-levelled. That won’t be the case anymore, as their attacks have effectively been weakened in the Nioh 2 1.07 update.
In Nioh 2, none of the bosses gave me as hard a time as Shibata Katsuie. I was playing throughout an entire night and kept dying, before finally beating him at 4am in the morning. It looks like Team Ninja knows this guy was one of the hardest bosses, so what did they do? Nerf him, of course, by weakening his attacks.
Another major change is that the drop rate for Smithing Text (used to craft weapons and armour) and The Art of Combat (used to learn new skills and abilities) have been buffed. They were previously ultra-rare, but now they’re likely easier to find.
In the meantime, check out the full patch notes below, courtesy of the Team Ninja official Twitter account:
