Chernobyl Director To Helm HBO’s The Last Of Us’ Pilot
By Alleef Ashaari|June 10, 2020|0 Comment
HBO’s The Last Of Us TV series adaptation was initially announced earlier this year. We already know that Naughty Dog vice president and the writer/creative director of both The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us Part II, Neil Druckmann, and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin, will be involved, but now another creative talent joins the fray.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Emmy Award-winning director Johan Renck behind Chernobyl will once again work together with Craig Mazin to direct the pilot episode of HBO’s The Last Of Us.
Besides Chernobyl, Renck is best known for having directed episodes for Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Halt And Catch Fire and Bates Motel, among others.
HBO’s The Last Of Us will cover the events of the original 2013 game, but there will also be a possibility of including additional content from the upcoming sequel, The Last Of Us Part 2, which is slated to release on 19 June 2020. As a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, it will also be the first TV series from PlayStation Productions.
In the meantime, check out my preview and first impressions of The Last Of Us Part 2 here.
