Rumour: We’re Getting A Far Cry 6 Set Somewhere Exotic

This month is where gaming companies are currently making a bunch of game announcements to hype people out for next-gen gaming. It’s also the month where some people can’t shut their trap and let folks like us spread the news that may come true.

Here’s one more to add to that list (via Nibellion): Far Cry 6 will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward digital event this week on 13th July 3am GMT+8. The game will take place at a more “exotic location”, and will be out next year for next-gen consoles and PC.

There’s nothing else apart from that, but if it’s anything like the past two Far Cry games, we’ll definitely get the following:

  • Open-world shooter action with crafting and allies-gathering.
  • A kooky-yet-evil antagonist that will spearhead the game’s narrative while ruling over the place you’re stuck open-worlding in.
  • Vehicles and other contraptions to muck about with.
  • A ton of checklists to clear and probably a tower or two to climb. I know Far Cry 5 didn’t do the latter, but I’m sure it’ll make a comeback somehow.
