Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Among Us Twitch Stream Peaked Over 400,000 Viewers

The U.S. Presidential Election is slated to take place on 3 November 2020, which is just two weeks away. In an attempt to drive the younger demographic to go out and vote, New York US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (or AOC) streamed the popular Among Us game earlier today.
Also joining Ocasio-Cortez during her Among Us stream were Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, as well as popular streamers like Pokimane, DrLupo, Myth, Maia, Jacksepticeye, MoistCr1TiKaL, Hasanabi, and Disguised Toast.
According to Forbes, AOC’s stream peaked at 440,000 concurrent viewers. However, if you count separate broadcasts of the same streaming session by the other streamers, that number surpassed 700,000 live viewers.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar even posted her PC specs, which are pretty mighty impressive:
Among Us is a party game by developer InnerSloth, where players have to to try and figure out who is sabotaging the crew of their spaceship, or the ‘imposter’, while accomplishing seemingly mundane tasks at the same time.
At one time, it was even the third most-played game on Steam (where it costs only RM12.50), and the game is even free-to-play on mobile platforms; Android and iOS.
It looks like even politicians are now taking on video game streaming as platforms to encourage younger people to vote, which is an admirable effort on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s part. Perhaps we’ll see more politicians from other countries joining in the trend, but frankly, that seems rather unlikely in Malaysia.
