Bob’s Burgers Lead Animator Dave Creek Dies At 42

Dave Creek has died at the age of 42 due to a skydiving accident. The late Creek was best known for being the lead animator on the Fox animated series Bob’s Burgers.

The official Twitter account for Bob’s Burgers also tweeted the following:

“We are heartbroken at the tragic passing of Dave Creek, an extraordinary artist who had been with Bob’s Burgers from day one.

He was not just an incredible talent but a beautiful person as well, and our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all his colleagues at the show who loved him and are grieving today.”

Creek’s credits on Bob’s Burgers date back to its very first episode on 9 January 2011 titled “Human Flesh” up until Season 9’s “Better Off Sled”, for a total of 79 episodes. He had also worked on other animated movies and series such as Happiness Is A Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown, Central Park and Brickleberry.

His colleagues also gave tributes to him on Twitter:

Bob’s Burgers director Simon Chong said:

“Today we tragically lost our Lead Character designer and friend, Dave Creek.

A wonderfully brilliant and talented man who I can guarantee designed your favourite character on Bob’s at some point.

I’ll miss you, buddy.”

Bob’s Burgers writer Wendy Molyneux wrote:

“If you love Bob’s Burgers, you loved Dave Creek.

He was an adventurous funny outgoing amazing artist and one of the most incredible, interesting people I ever met.

I often thought that Dave really knew how to live, and I wish he got to live some more.

Rest In Peace, buddy.”
