Sony Delays Morbius To October 2021

Bad luck for Morbius… again.
Sony Pictures has delayed the Morbius movie yet again; this time from its previous release date of 18 March 2021 to sometime in October 2021. It was originally supposed to premiere in July 2020 before initially being delayed to 18 March 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the movie centres on a biochemist who becomes a vampire after attempting to cure himself of a rare blood disease. Jared Leto portrays Michael Morbius alongside a cast that includes Matt Smith, Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson.
It remains to be seen how the Morbius delay will affect Venom Let There Be Carnage (the sequel to 2018’s Venom), which is currently apparently still scheduled for June 2021. If you want to learn more about who or what Morbius is, head on over here to our handy guide.
