Shazam 2 Adds Lucy Liu To Its Growing Cast
By Alleef Ashaari|April 14, 2021|0 Comment
Lucy Liu, best known for starring in the Kill Bill and Charlie’s Angels franchises, has joined Shazam Fury Of The Gods as the villain Kalypso. Kalypso is the sister of the Greek goddess Hespera and will serve as one of the sequel’s main antagonists.
Lucy Liu’s Kalypso, Helen Mirren’s Hespera and Rachel Zegler’s unnamed character will be presented in the film as the daughters of the Greek titan Atlas. However, not much is known about the actual plot of the upcoming movie at this point.
Liu has been busy in the past few years in TV projects like Why Women Kill (which is actually quite good, by the way) and Elementary, despite being best known for her movie roles.
During DC FanDome 2020, it was revealed that the title of the movie would be Shazam! Fury Of The Gods. Directed by returning director David F. Sandberg, Shazam Fury Of The Gods stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Marta Milans as Mama Rosa, Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso and Rachel Zegler in an undisclosed role.
It is set to premiere on 23 June 2023. In the meantime, check out my review of 2019’s Shazam!.
