EMERGE Esports Teams Up With TikTok For Gaming Content
By Alleef Ashaari|May 3, 2021|0 Comment
Singapore-based esports talent management agency EMERGE Esports has announced a partnership with leading destination for short-form mobile video, TikTok. With the aim of supporting esports talents to generate impactful video content, the year-long partnership will drive endless opportunities for creators to engage and interact with the wider community.Â
This partnership comes at a time when EMERGE Esports is advocating for a collaborative ecosystem that caters to existing and aspiring esports talents. Both brands will also look to support talents to diversify and monetise their content on the social platform in order to expand viewership and reach. What’s more, the agreement provides EMERGE talents with exclusive access to the TikTok Creator’s Marketplace, essentially opening doors to greater engagement on the platform.Â
Roy Kek, Chief Executive Officer of EMERGE Esports, says:
“We are excited to be partnering with TikTok to explore different genres of content creation for our talents.
The video-sharing platform has seen tremendous growth in the past months, especially in the pandemic.
The unique content sharing format on TikTok makes it the perfect platform to engage more gamers and esports enthusiasts in Singapore and in the region.
We firmly believe that this opportunity will encourage our talents to explore beyond their comfort zones and unleash their full potential as content creators in the esports and entertainment sectors.”.Â
Rehashing esports content for a mainstream audienceÂ
Adds Doreen Tan, User & Content Operations Manager for TikTok Singapore said:
“TikTok has provided many gaming brands and esports organisations with endless opportunities to showcase their unique stories and engage with gamers in fresh and creative ways.
As the vibrant gaming and esports community continues to grow on TikTok, we look forward to collaborating closely with EMERGE Esports to enable the passions of local gamers with fun, quality content on our platform.â€
As a part of the efforts to push esports content on TikTok, EMERGE talents will be exploring a variety of video entertainment which includes talent features, gaming compilations and game reviews. To kick off this partnership, TikTok will be conducting workshops to onboard and familiarise EMERGE talents with the social media platform.
The onboarding workshops will include special coaching sessions on how to utilise the app optimally and produce engaging contents to get recognised and connect with their target audience. The talents will also be guided on how to spot trends and concepts that will help them diversify their content and reach wider audiences.Â
The partnership is a stepping stone in EMERGE’s mission to pave the way for more youngsters and gaming enthusiasts to identify esports as a viable career option. Having key players like TikTok onboard sparks conversation and raises the profile of the industry amidst the younger generation, who often sideline their passion for gaming to pursue other conventional options.
