Warner Bros Crossover Fighting Game Gets Closed Alpha Session This Month

Warner Bros. Games has announced a closed alpha session for its upcoming free-to-play 2D platformer fighting game MultiVersus.

The alpha starts on 19 May and will run until 27 May. This is an invite-only test that will allow players to experience various modes of the game, including the 2v2 team-based game mode. The closed alpha is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC with full cross-play support and dedicated server-based rollback netcode.

Here’s some official gameplay between the devs and pro gamers players NAKAT and VoiD. It seriously needs some colour commentary, but otherwise it showcases the game’s movesets and how it plays out. We get to see characters Superman, Wonder Woman, Tom & Jerry, and Shaggy in all their 2D fighting game Smash Bros clone glory!

On a related note, EVO 2022 will feature a MultiVersus 2v2 tournament. Characters confirmed for the game include: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, Tom and Jerry, Jake the Dog, Finn the Human, Steven Universe, Garnet, and Reindog (an original fighter).
