Circus Electrique Will Be Zen Studio’s First Non-Pinball Game In Decades

Hungarian developers, Zen Studio—famous for pinball games—have decided to venture into the tactical RPG genre with the announcement of Circus Electrique expected to drop later this year.

After years of solely developing pinball games, Zen Studio has decided to team up with publishers, Saber Interactive to create a steampunk-esque game set in Victorian London that has been compared to the likes of Darkest Dungeon.

Besides the RPG element, there’s a bit of management thrown in, story-driven parts and bearded ladies. One hopes. But here’s the real exciting component: the people of London are mysteriously turning into vicious killers, and only the circus can save the city.

We’ve already seen that circus management is a lot better than expectations of song rehearsals with Mr Huge Action. Circus Electrique is a bit similar to the debuff element called the Devotion morale system. It’ll affect battles and throughout the circus shows as well, just like Darkest Dungeon. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Here’s what Circus Electrique offers on the back of the box.

Key features

  • Electrifying RPG Combat: Test the skills of Strongmen, Fire Blowers, Escape Artists, Clowns, and other classic circus performers – there are 14 playable archetypes total, each with deep tactical options in battle. Assemble the most ideal combination of acrobatic artists to fight against over-the-top enemies.
  • Manage the Greatest Show in Steampunk London: Despite the chaos, the show must go on! Rebuild the circus to its former greatness and beyond, recruiting and training the most talented performers from all over the world. Performers’ skill, chemistry with one another, and overall Devotion combine to determine the success of a single show – and you’ll need every single spare Shilling you can get to keep everyone paid and happy.
  • A Circus Like No Other: Immerse yourself in a striking world based on vintage circus posters, Victorian-era archetypes and classic steampunk charm.

The game will launch in sometime this year in 2022 and will feature on Steam, Epic Games Store, the latest generation of PlayStation and Xbox and the Switch. Go click this Steam link if you want to add it to your wishlist.
