Starfield’s Patch 1.7.33 Has Landed

Bethesda just dropped the second update for Starfield on Xbox Series X | S and PC. In their official announcement, they mentioned this update isn’t exactly a blockbuster, but it does tackle some pesky performance hiccups, stability quirks, and a few gameplay wrinkles.

What’s cool is that we’ve got the full rundown of what’s been fixed and tweaked right here:

STARFIELD 1.7.33 UPDATE PATCH NOTES

GENERAL

  • They sorted out an issue that had characters wandering off where they shouldn’t be.
  • Star Stations are no longer claiming to be player-owned ships.
  • Vendors have tightened their inventory access, no more freebies.

GRAPHICS

  • AMD GPU users, they heard your cries – star lens flares should be shining as they should now.
  • Texture enthusiasts rejoice, textures won’t randomly go all blurry anymore.
  • And if you’re prone to photosensitivity, scrolling through your inventory won’t be a headache anymore.

PERFORMANCE & STABILITY

  • The Hand Scanner’s hitching days are over.
  • There’s a bunch of under-the-hood stuff too, crashing and freezing should be on the decline.

SHIPS

  • Items on in-ship mannequins will actually stay put now.
  • And no more disappearing acts from items stored in Razorleaf Storage Containers and Weapon Racks when you hijack another ship.

But that’s not all, Bethesda’s not resting on their laurels. They’ve got a bigger update in the works, bringing all those community-requested goodies like brightness and contrast controls, an HDR calibration menu, an FOV slider, Nvidia DLSS support, ultrawide monitor love, and even an “eat” button for those immersive meal moments.

In case you missed it, Starfield touched down on September 6th, though lucky pre-order peeps got to jump in on September 1st. And it’s been making waves – 10 million players and counting, with Bethesda calling it their biggest launch ever. In fact, it raced its way into the top five fastest-selling games in Europe this year during its launch week. Starfield’s clearly out there to conquer the cosmos, one update at a time.
