Blizzard’s Diablo 4 Leaked Survey Hints Players With New Expansion Prices

Diablo 4 players are allegedly being asked on a survey about add-ons that cost up to $100 and include early access to gear and companions.

Activision Blizzard, the publisher and developer of Diablo 4, has apparently reached out to Diablo 4’s players to inquire about their perspective on the possibility of being charged $100 for an expansion.

According to Michael Bellular Bell, YouTube creator and Activision Blizzard enthusiast, a significant number of players have received a survey that poses the question of how much a Diablo 4 expansion should cost. The survey provides respondents with four price bands, ranging from $49.99 to $99.99, and lists various features that could be included.

The $99.99 tier entitles you to a hero skin for all classes, unique mount armours, and 2,000 Platinum per season. There are some tiers of the expansion that include the Diablo 4 base game.

Two of the tiers provide options for stash space and two tiers would have a companion “that accompanies you in-game, providing some conveniences and utility such as access to your stash or gold pickups”. Moreover, the $69.99 and $99.99 tiers would come with “Early access to a functional item” such as a “Unique piece of gear or a Legendary aspect before it’s released during the expansion.” It’s possible that the game is heading towards a pay-to-win model.

It is important to note that since this survey is primarily focused on gathering feedback, the pricing details and benefits associated with each tier are merely hypothetical and subject to change. If, in fact, the survey is authentic, Blizzard may be exploring various possibilities to gauge players’ opinions on what is acceptable and what may bring backlash.

In the meantime, we will have to wait until Activision makes any announcements about the survey or the price of its next expansion, Vessel of Hatred.
