Capcom just unveiled a ton of new information concerning its upcoming action RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2, made by the same team that developed the Devil May Cry games.

Despite the release date of the game already revealed via a premature Steam page info drop, we still get to see a ton of surprises. The new showcase shows off a few new bosses, one of them being the towering stone colossus called the Talos, a detached head knight called Dullahan, and a mini-dragon called the Drake.

The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set in a parallel universe where humans, elves, and beastren live. There’s tension between the two kingdoms of the game: Vermund and Battahl, and there’s a red dragon called Grigori in the middle of it that symbolizes destruction.

We also get a preview of the characters apart from your Arisen and pawns (via official website).

Ulrika: The young leader of Melve, she has a strong sense of responsibility and trains diligently to protect her people. When the Arisen was wounded in the Dragon’s attack, she nursed them back to health. Wields a bow.

Nadinia: A Beastren High Priestess to the Lambent Flame, and leader of Battahl. Desires peace and prosperity in the nation.

Menella: A Beastren who leads the guard of the Lambent Flame, protecting the high priestess and her acolytes. She is fiercely loyal to Empress Nadinia.

Wilhelmina: Proprietress of the Rose Chateau in Vermund’s capital. Her patrons include many influential members of nobility. An enigmatic woman, she combines her enchanting charm with intelligence and open-mindedness.

Brant: The honest and righteous captain of the palace guard in Vermund.

Sven: Beloved son of Queen Regent Disa. Nice guy who is unfortunately a pawn to his mom’s plans.

Disa: Queen to the previous Sovran of Vermund. Schemes to install her beloved son Sven as the next king. Clearly evil.

Glyndwr: A young elf with an air of gentleness and timidity that is rare among the usually haughty elves. He is interested in the tools humans use and is fluent in human language. He despairs his lack of skill in archery, which is essential for an elven guard.

Doireann: Sister of Glyndwr, she too hails from the elves’ home in the forest depths. A quiet, refined young woman with elegant manners. Due to her older brother’s influence, she understands a few words of human language, and is kind and welcoming to those of other races.

The showcase also introduces a new Arisen-exclusive Vocation (class): the Trickster. The Trickster uses deception, illusions, and smoke to confuse and disorient enemies big and small while his/her party goes for the kill. He uses a censer which emits smoke and channels all of the Trickster’s spells and magic.

“A vocation exclusive to the Arisen, the Trickster can conjure illusions through the smoke created by its unique weapon, the Censer. Tricksters can use illusions to deceive enemies into fighting against their own. They also have the ability to temporarily increase the power of Pawns beyond their limits.”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be out for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on 22nd March 2024.
