Everything Announced At The Honkai: Star Rail 2.0 Special Program
Greetings trailblazers! It’s been awhile but we finally have some news on update 2.0 for Honkai: Star Rail! According to the Special Program today, update 2.0 will be called If One Dreams At Midnight and will feature the new realm, Penacony! As usual we will have more characters being introduced and more chances to gacha on some old banners! So, let’s dive into what we’re getting this upcoming update!
Version 2.0, titled “If One Dreams At Midnight” will arrive on February 6!
The crew is invited by The Family to be special guests at the Charmony Festival in Penacony. The planet used to be a prison used by the IPC to put criminals away but is now a fancy interstellar hotel called The Reverie. Trailblazers will be able to travel between reality and the Dreamscape facilitated by a unique sleep device known as the Dreampool. You’ll step into The Golden Hour, the liveliest and most popular among the 12 Dreamscapes. You will also come across a device called the Dream’s Eye that creates illusions to connect different paths. The best part? Trailblazers will also unlock the ability to Dreamwalk, letting them defy gravity and walk on walls and ceilings in later stories. These missions will span from versions 2.0 to 2.2, and culminate with epilogues in version 2.3.
Meet 5 Star character, Black Swan, an oracle and Memokeeper in the Garden of Recollection. She will be a Wind Nihility character. When Black Swan uses Basic ATKs or Skills to attack enemies in combat, there is a certain probability of applying a special stackable DoT effect called Arcana to the enemies. In the Arcana state, Black Swan activates extra effects depending on the number of Arcana stacks on the target. Additionally, as the stacks build up, the DoTs inflicted on the enemy will also rise accordingly.
Trailblazers will also meet Sparkle at The Family’s feast! Sparkle is a 5 star Quantum Harmony character. Sparkle is also known as the enigmatic Masked Fool, following in the path of Elation. She excels at changing identities and indulges in playing various roles since she can change personas. Sparkle’s presence will provide an additional increase to the team’s maximum Skill Point. Her special ability not just enhances the CRIT DMG of a chosen teammate but also advances that teammate’s Action. Once Sparkle uses her Ultimate, she can also restore multiple Skill Points for the entire team simultaneously.
Misha makes his debut as well as a doorman at The Reverie. He is a 4 star character. During combat, the greater the number of Skill Points the team uses, the higher the damage inflicted by Misha’s Ultimate. Furthermore, when Misha activates his Ultimate, there’s a chance to Freeze the target.
We will also see limited 5-star characters Dan Heng, Imbibitor Lunae and Jing Yuan appearing in the first and second phase of Version 2.0’s event warp respectively. How exciting!
Upcoming events feature “Hanu’s Prison Break,” offering mini-games like transforming into a pinball or a Hanu. Completing the event grants you the chance to choose from various 4-star characters as a prize. The “Dreamcatcher Bulletin” event introduces you to Penacony, providing rewards upon completing the event. Engage in the “Dreamjolt TV” battle event, and participate in the “Penacony Food Fest,” a cooking event allowing you to send food to your friends!
We will be seeing Black Swan, as well as Sparkle’s companion stories coming up first! We’re excited to get to know these Penaconian characters.
A new feature called Fate’s Atlas is now available to help Trailblazers organize the chronological order of events and plot lines in each world. This will help trailblazers in better understanding the narrative context of each world. Additionally, the process of enhancing Relics has been optimized, allowing Trailblazers to easily insert materials while upgrading and elevate each Relic to a specified level. The update also introduces tailored Relic set recommendations for different characters, enabling Trailblazers to efficiently filter and switch Relic sets with a single click. Lastly, improvements have been made to the marking, discarding, and salvaging of Relics, enhancing the overall gaming experience by making it easier for Trailblazers to find materials efficiently.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PlayStation 5, PC via client download and Epic Games Store, iOS via App Store, and Android via Google Play. A PlayStation 4 version is also planned in the future.
