Dynasty Warriors Developers Want To Make A Star Wars Musou Game

The Omega Force developers want to take a crack at a galaxy far, far away.

According to a recent JPgames interview, Dynasty Warriors series producer Akihiro Suzuki wants to make a Star Wars game in the veins of its 3D action beat-em-up titles. A Star Wars Musou title with all the hack-and-slashing army-smashing, to be specific.

“Within the dev team, a lot of different IP and works have been brought up. This is solely my own opinion, but my own personal wish would be for a Star Wars crossover.”

When asked about the future of Musou titles, he had this to add:

“I’d like to be able to increase the sense of immersion into the battlefield through more realistic depictions, especially through the visual representation and the individual movement (AI) of every single soldier. Also, if we can have multiple people playing simultaneously online, that would be really fun.”

Honestly, having Yoda, Luke Skywalker, or Darth Vader mowing down Storm Troopers and Rebels on a giant Hoth battlefield with Jedi/Sith powers and lightsaber combos would be a great way to kill off a Saturday. Omega Force and Koei Tecmo have a lot of good fortune with doing Musou spin-offs like the Hyrule Warriors series and Persona 5: Strikers. I actually had more fun with those titles than the actual Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors factory churns.
