Football Manager 2018’s New ‘Dynamics’ System Will Alter How You Handle Your Squad

With each Football Manager iteration, players are introduced with brand new managing concepts and tools which adds layers upon layers to the complexity of handling one’s favorite football club from top to bottom. Gone are the days when all you need to worry was whether to run a 4-4-2 instead of a 4-2-3-1; squad harmony and balancing players’ play time and expectations are among of the core concepts in more recent versions.

Just when veterans of the game thought developers Sports Interactive have been putting too many variables in managing one’s football squad and wonder whether that was as detailed as they could get, SI added a new feature to this year’s version in the form of ‘Dynamics’. Simply put, ‘Dynamics’ adds behind-the-scenes issues into the mix including dressing room atmosphere, team cohesion and personnel management that adds tons of new layers to an already complex football sim game. Veteran squad members forming cliques? Dressing room politics with diva-like players? Your record signing being ostracised by the rest of the team? How awesome is that?

Expect to focus more on players’ mentality management than ever in FM2018. Player power is higher than ever as dressing room atmosphere will play a crucial role in affecting a team’s overall shape, morale and the effectiveness of your on-field tactics. Full detail of ‘Dynamics’ are explained in the video above so we’d highly recommend you have a quick watch.

‘Dynamics’ is a super cool introduction to FM18, one which any Football Manager veteran would welcome but also may be a tad too complicated for some casual players. Nonetheless, November 10 could not come soon enough and if our guesses are correct, those who pre-order the game will get early beta access to it, roughly two weeks before the full launch. Watch this space as we will be updating you with relevant info as we receive more news.
