Puzzle & Dragons Creators Announces Chrono Magia, An Upcoming Competitive Card Game
Looks like there’s going to be another Japanese digital collectible card game entering the market soon. GungHo, the folks behind Puzzle & Dragon, just announced a new competitive title called ChronoMagia that will be out for smartphones in Japan in the near future.
The game will have a heavy strategy focus and use many cards, which is the basis of any collectible card game really.
Here’s what we know so far:
-The game’s lead producer is Daisuke Yamamoto, who produced Puzzle & Dragons. He said in the Famitsu interview that Chrono Magia is a very important project and plans to make the game with “the best members and with plenty of spirit.”
-The game’s OST will be composed by Yuzo Koshiro. You remember him from Streets of Rage 2, Etrian Odyssey, and the early Ys games from Falcom, right?
-Every card game needs a ton of illustrators for their content, right? Here’s the current list of featured artists for Chrono Magia:
-The game will also be available outside of Japan, making this a possible third game to be competing in the mobile CCG-slash-esports space. The first two are Hearthstone and Shadowverse, in case you’ve been living under a rock.
Based on these Famitsu scans so far, there are schoolgirls with katanas, lolis, fantasy beasts, fantasy beauties, and two-headed dragons. We can’t wait until we get more info on how the game works, so in the meantime, enjoy the pretty pictures.
