You Can No Longer Use This Payment Method On PlayStation Asia
By Alleef Ashaari|January 25, 2019|1 Comment
PlayStation Asia has announced that PSN users in the region will no longer use PayPal as a payment method starting from 6 February 2019. That also means users cannot purchase games on the Malaysian PlayStation Store using the PayPal option from now on.
However, PSN users can still use one of the two payment methods still available: either by purchasing PSN Prepaid Cards or using a credit/debit card (VISA or MASTER). Users can find PSN Prepaid Cards and PS Plus subscription cards at 7-Eleven branches or at the authorized shops, which are listed here on the official website.
Here’s a friendly reminder that those who have subscribed to PS Plus auto-renewal should immediately change their payment method to avoid problems in the future. It’s unclear if this new applies to PlayStation users outside of Asia but as of now, PayPal is still available as a payment method on PlayStation US (and perhaps other regions as well).
However, this will still be an inconvenience to those who are used to paying using their PayPal accounts. The only thing you can do now is to use any of the two payment methods I mentioned above or create an entirely new PSN account from another region (although this isn’t recommended).

Wow, leave it to PlayStation Asia to FUCK their own countries AND PayPal
by disallowing this payment method. I guess they don’t want overseas profits.
And they wonder why their international audiences don’t by their games outside their borders.
