Avengers Endgame Sinks The Titanic, On Its Way To Conquering Pandora

In less than two weeks (11 days), Avengers Endgame has grossed an unthinkable $2.188 billion, not only overtaking James Cameron’s Titanic ($2.187 billion) but also becoming the fastest movie in history to be inducted into the 2 billion club, joining the likes of Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic, and Avatar.

Box office analysts were initially skeptical of Avengers Endgame‘s chances to overtake Avatar‘s $2.788 billion, but now it’s no longer a pipe dream, as Marvel Studios’ juggernaut only needs a little more than $600 million to take the crown and become the highest-grossing movie of all time.

If the current momentum continues in the next few weeks, it’s not stretch to believe that Avengers Endgame might even cross the mythical $3 billion line, of which no movie in history has ever been able to do. Think about that for a second.

However, it’s not going to be smooth sailing for Avengers Endgame in the coming weeks, with heavy competition from the likes of the highly-anticipated Detective Pikachu and John Wick 3 dropping very soon, not to mention Disney’s Aladdin and Godzilla: King of The Monsters later this month.

Nevertheless, as a comic book fan, I’m proud of how far comic book adaptations have come in such a short span of time. This is just the tip of the iceberg, folks. More is surely yet to come, and the golden age is just beginning.

In the meantime, check out our spoiler-free review of Avengers: Endgame here, our discussion for what’s next post-Avengers Endgame here, or the upcoming movies you can look forward to in the MCU Phase Four (4) post-Avengers Endgame here, or what the future holds for the MCU cast we all know and love here.
