CD Projekt Financial Report Shows The Witcher 3 Still Selling Well

It’s been four years since we were first graced with the beautiful and detailed world of The Witcher 3. To this day some of us still consider it the best video game of all time and tirelessly recommend it to our gaming pals. According to CD Projekt‘s financial report for the first half of 2019, those recommendations are definitely being listened to.

In a recent post on their website, the CD Projekt Capital Group stated that they have earned 214.4 million PLN (approximately US$53 million) in sales revenue and 51.7 million PLN (approximately US$12 million) in net profit for the first half of 2019.

Speaking about the results, vice president and CFO of CD Projekt Piotr Nielubowicz mentioned that The Witcher 3 was the primary contributor to the high profits. He further emphasised that more copies of The Witcher 3 has been sold in the first half of 2019 than the first half of 2018.

“This further confirms our belief that investing in top-quality games pays off, and that such games may continue to sell well for many years.”

Adam KiciÅ„ski, president of the board of the CD Projekt Capital Group, spoke more on the marketing side of things. “The first half of the year was dominated by intensive preparations for the Cyberpunk 2077 promotional campaign, and particularly for the June E3 fair.” he said.

Aside from Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt is also working on other projects including GWENT: The Witcher Card Game for mobiles and GOG Galaxy 2.0, a digital platform that combines all of a user’s game libraries into one application. The latter is currently in its closed beta phase.
