There Are More People Playing Witcher 3 Right Now Than In 2015

Who knew that a pretty decent adaptation of a fantasy book-slash-video-game-series means more players for the latter?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt currently has more players on the PC Steam platform right now than it had on its 2015 launch day. It broke its own record of 92,000 with 94,000+ according to SteamDB and Steamcharts. That’s higher than F2P games Path of Exile, Warframe, and Team Fortress 2 at the moment.

In fact, The Witcher 3’s concurrent player count surpassed the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 last week (via PC Gamer); pretty impressive for a 4-year old RPG.

We think that the current Netflix series The Witcher and the Steam Winter sale discount for the game –now at RM38.70 for the GOTY Edition– helped a ton. Also, Europe and USA are on a holiday break until after New Year’s.
