16 Years Later, We’re Getting A New Alien Hominid

Castle Crashers developer The Behemoth have announced their fifth game, Alien Hominid Invasion, which is described as a “re-imagining” of the 2004’s Alien Hominid.
According to the brief announcement trailer, Alien Hominid Invasion will be a co-op arcade shooter, likely in the vein of past entries in the series. The developer promises more information to be revealed at PAX East 2020, which runs from 27 February to 1 March 2020, and EGX Rezzed 2020, which runs from 26 to 28 March 2020 in London.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXmvNbJvBxg&w=560&h=315]Alien Hominid Invasion will be playable at both events mentioned above, which probably means that the game has been in development for a while now. It may even get a 2020 release date, but all we know right now is that the upcoming game will launch on unspecified consoles and PC.
It’s been a whopping 15 years since the first Alien Hominid, so it’s no wonder that the folks at The Behemoth wanted to return to their very first game after such a long time. It should also be noted that Alien Hominid Invasion will be the developer’s first-ever sequel or follow-up of sorts.
