NFS Heat Now Playable With Steering Wheel
By Burhanudin Zamri|January 30, 2020|0 Comment
Need for Speed Heat might not be everyone’s cup of tea but most people (including me) will agree that it’s probably the best Need for Speed game in recent years. Ghost Games has just dropped a new update which adds a bunch of interesting features.
The major announcement here is that you’ll finally be able to play the game using a steering wheel. Before you get excited, do note that the developers have only confirmed a few models to be completely compatible and they are:
- Thrustmaster T300RS (PS4, PC*)
- Thrustmaster TX (Xbox, PC*)
- Thrustmaster T150 (PS4, PC*)
- Thrustmaster TMX (Xbox, PC*)
- Logitech G29 (PS4, PC*)
- Logitech G920 (Xbox, PC*)
- Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel (PS4, PC*, XB1)
If the steering that you own is not listed, you’ll just have to try plugging it in and see if it works. It’s stated in the announcement that “a few others might work” which isn’t exactly the most helpful statement but it should give you hope.
Other additions in the update include a chat wheel that will allow you to easily communicate with friends and other racers you meet online. This was obviously added to mitigate the issue of having to use voice chat to communicate effectively.
As expected of EA, microtransactions are also part of this update in the form of something called “Keys to the Map“. Basically, you’ll be able to use real-world money to reveal the locations of collectibles and activities on the map. It’s just one of those time-saver features.
Of course, there are also a bunch of quality of life improvements and you can read about them and everything else introduced in the patch here.
