The Witcher Season 2 Is Coming In 2021, Will Be More Linear

Netflix’s The Witcher is now one of the most popular TV shows in the world, and fans must be eagerly waiting for the second season. The streaming giant already renewed the series for season two about a month before the first season premiere, but now we have an expected release window for the next season.

In a recent Reddit AMA session, The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich confirmed that the earliest expected release date for Season 2 would be sometime in 2021. She said:

“We don’t yet have a target launch date for S2, past 2021.

We don’t want to rush the product.

That doesn’t benefit anyone.”

She also confirmed that The Witcher Season 2 will be more linear compared to the confusing non-linear narrative of the first season. This is good news for viewers who were frustrated with the unexplained time skips and jumps.

She said:

“The story will be much more linear, now that the three characters’ stories have started to intersect.”

In the meantime, check out my review of The Witcher Season 1 here, or head on over here for all the easter eggs and references I found in the first season.
