How Ubisoft Singapore Is Responsible For A Quarter of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

During a live stream earlier this month, Ubisoft Singapore revealed that they primarily worked on the naval aspect of gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including the Viking longships and crew. The crew of the longship can not only fight alongside players but also sing songs and tell stories of their lives and the lore of the world.

They also worked on the Viking dice minigame called Orlog, the Cairn stacking activities, and the Standing Stone puzzles that are found throughout the world, including the iconic Stonehenge.

The biggest contribution of the Ubisoft Singapore team is that they created roughly one-fourth or a quarter of the open-world in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This includes the territories of East Anglia, Eurvicscire, Snotinghamscire, the major city of Jorvik, and the North American region.

Other contributions by Ubisoft Singapore include the biomes in the game, side quests and small stories called World Events (including one that involves a cat following players on a raid), and bringing the rivers of England to life.

Currently, they’re working on the upcoming second DLC expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; the Siege Of Paris. Players will visit “war-torn” Frankia (the old name for France) and encounter historical figures, as well as fight elite soldiers of Emperor Charles the Fat.

It’s slated to release sometime in summer 2021, after the first DLC expansion Wrath Of The Druids in spring 2021.

In addition, Ubisoft Singapore also said that there will be quick-time events for stealth assassinations (the Hidden Blade is back). and that there will be subtle narrative changes based on the choice of gender for Eivor (which you can also change at any time).

Last but not least, players will be able to visit the North American region at any time after reaching it for the first time during a certain part of the story.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out now for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It will also launch for the PS5 on 12/19 November 2020.

In the meantime, check out our full review of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla here.
