Earlier this year, original Slam Dunk manga creator Takehiko Inoue announced that an animated Slam Dunk movie is in the works. Several months later and now, it is now confirmed that the Slam Dunk anime movie will arrive sometime in fall 2022.

According to Anime News Network, Inoue himself will be the director and writing the script at Toei Animation. Among the listed staff members are:

• Character designer/animation director Yasuyuki Ebara (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress)
• Technical director Katsuhiko Kitada (Attack on Titan episodes, Major: YÅ«jō no Winning Shot),
• Technical director Naoki Miyahara (Digimon Adventure, Popin Q),
• Technical director Toshio ÅŒhashi (LayereD Stories 0).
• Technical director YÅ« Kamatani (Looking for Magical DoReMi, Precure Super Stars!).
• Sound director Yota Tsuruoka.

However, the movie’s official title has yet to be revealed.
