Halo Infinite Players Will Now Get Bonus XP In Their First Few Daily Matches
By Alleef Ashaari|November 30, 2021|0 Comment
Halo Infinite‘s free-to-play multiplayer was already one of the most played games on Steam shortly after launch but that doesn’t mean that it was perfect. The game received criticism for its battle pass and bad progression system. Developer 343 Industries has since vowed to start fixing the problem, and one of them is coming to make the game better.
Previously, players would earn no XP from playing their first few games, as all XP would be obtained via completing challenges alone. Despite there being a permanent “play one game” challenge that awards 50XP each time, the developer “noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than we’d like”.
After seeing how XP was earned with those changes, we noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than we'd like. To address this, we will be increasing the XP payout for the first 6 matches of each day. An outline of this update can be found below:

In a new update, Halo Infinite players will be getting more XP in their first few games of each day. The first six games played each day will now reward more experience than before. It will gradually decrease before reverting to 50XP per match as usual starting from the seventh game of the day.
This is what that looks like:
According to Halo Infinite community manager John Junyszek (via Twitter), the bonus XP update is slated to go live later today and have been made “based on data and player feedback.” He also confirmed that 343 is “committed” to further improving the game, but “those will take time” to do in future updates.
