VergeWorld Is A Retro-Laced Roguelite Combat Racer Slated For Fall 2022
Need a game that’s a mix between WipeOut and a roguelike? Vergeworld could be that title to scratch that weird itch.
Vergeworld is a retro-fuelled roguelite combat racing game where you fly through procedurally generated canyons, shoot enemies, power yourself up, and survive. The game features high replayability and 16-bit style tunes to go along with its PlayStation 1-era graphics (via IGN). We’ll just repeat the game’s key features in bullet point form below:
- Procedurally generated levels
- High-speed combat racing with third-person view bullet hell fights
- Airship’s highly customizable arsenal
- 3 alien biomes to navigate
- PSX-era 3D graphics with pixel art and a splash of modern inspiration
- Nostalgic 16-bit tunes mixed with a synthwave soundtrack
Sounds like my kind of jam! VergeWorld will be out in the fall of 2022. A playable demo of this game is coming to Steam Next Fest.
