[Report] Spyro Trilogy Remaster Will Be Out Late 2018, PS4 Exclusive
Anyone here a fan of the Insomniac-made action platformer game Spyro The Dragon? I’m sure you are, even if you’re trying to forget that one time Elijah Wood voiced the dragon in one of its reboots.
If you liked the PlayStation One series back in the day, we’ve got some good news for you. A Kotaku report found out that Activision is working on a Spyro The Dragon Trilogy Remaster, according to “multiple sources familiar with the project”. The games in the trilogy include Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
The remaster will be along the same veins as the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy remaster, where it will have new assets, lighting, animations, the works. The soundtrack will also be rearranged. The game’s past save feature will be updated to be more “user-friendly”. All development will be handled by Vicarious Visions, the folks also responsible for the Crash Bandicoot remaster.
The trilogy pack will be announced this March and will be out later this year, Q3 2018. It will naturally be exclusive to PlayStation 4 with PS4 Pro support. We can’t wait: after all, today’s generation of gamers will get to see Insomniac Games’ past hit series involving a purple dragon, way before Ratchet & Clank took over.
