There May Be A Valkyrie Profile Remaster In The Works…(Update: Nope, Just A Goddamn Mobile Port)
This story has been updated with new info about the upcoming iOS/Android version of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Goddammit…
Alright, so the Secret Of Mana remake may be a heaping garbage fire when compared to the original, but its heart was in the right place. I think. Square Enix, supposedly on a remastering bender, might be eyeing Valkyrie Profile next.
Wait, what? The same masterful JRPG where you recruit dead warriors and sorcerers to fight in Ragnarok? The same game with the prog-rock awesomeness from Motoi Sakuraba? The same JRPG with a battle system that is like Street Fighter but turn-based?
We asked ourselves the same thing when this trailer popped up.
You know it’s a 90s JRPG when they go nuts with the alliterations that don’t make a lick of sense. “Should deny the divine destiny of the destinies”: this is a class of its own with Duodecim and Fabula Novalis Crystariumwatchamacallit.
Update: It’s been a week, and Square Enix has made it official – this Valkyrie Profile game is an iOS/Android version of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. We’d probably curse Square Enix’s name right now, but this is on par with their recent remake and porting efforts as of late. So thanks, you jerks!
Anyway, the site is here. You can see bits and clips of the new interface and game’s new look below.
Anyway, stay tuned for more news about this remake/port/cocktease from us at Kakuchopurei.
