Get Good in Esports and Streaming With These Workshops in Singapore
By Alleef Ashaari|November 19, 2018|0 Comment
Always wanted to delve into esports and/or video game streaming? If you’re in (or live near) Singapore, this is the best time to start! There’s a bunch of classes to help you get one step closer to realizing your dreams of becoming a pro esports player or full-time streamer.
First up is an esports Academy Dota 2 workshop, where attendees will have the privilege of learning from veteran esports coach Ruth Lim. She previously coached team TenTwenty all the way to representing Singapore in Jakarta, and she is currently coaching team Tr33nity.
The Dota 2 workshop covers everything from the basics to understanding team role, and even more complex stuff like the MMR bracket and how to truly master the heroes in the game. Unfortunately, the only workshop left is the one focusing on hero mastery, which will take place next month.
There will also be a 2-day PUBG workshop happening soon. Players can learn important aspects of the battle royale game such as strategies, loot management, team communication, and more from veteran semi-professional gamer Donald Yeo.
Not only will you gain valuable PUBG skills, but attendees who complete both days of the PUBG workshop will also automatically gain access to an academy PUBG tournament taking place in early 2019.
Besides that, aspiring streamers can look forward to jumpstarting their career by attending the live-streaming master class workshop by Twitch partner Andrew ‘Sombrero’ Philippou. Spots are limited to only 15 selected participants, so grab this opportunity to learn more about how to become a professional streamer.
All of these workshops are held at the National Library Building in Singapore, and the ones I’ve mentioned are only several of the esports-related classes available there. It’s great to see that there are folks making an effort to develop esports and gaming-related professionals in the local scene.
Here’s hoping to more of these being offered in the rest of Southeast Asia too. Stay tuned to Kakuchopurei for more news.
