Here’s A Video That Reminds You Why Yasunori Mitsuda Is A Music Legend

Man, I remember a time when I enjoyed the heck out of Chrono Trigger on the PS1. Yes, I’m one of those guys late to the SNES JRPG party.

But the fact that a 1995 SNES cartridge game ported on a CD anthology -tacked on with loading times, mind you- can still impress me more than all the PS1 FFs and Konami/Capcom JRPGs combined is a testament to the game’s sublime design.

Not only that, but Chrono Trigger boasts the best debut of a video game musician and composer so legendary and masterful, he has succumbed to many illnesses just to create his aural masterpieces. I’m referring to Yasunori Mitsuda, of course.

We can’t call SoundScape the best video game music-featuring segment unless we dedicate an episode to the man behind the sweet and epic sounds of Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and a ton of other RPGs. So here you go; enjoy!
