Wildman Inc. has announced a Panzer Dragoon game for VR. Tentatively titled Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record, the game will be a “VR dramatic shooter”. I’m not sure if that means it’d be a shooter with a dramatic story or a shooter with dramatic shooting.

The game will “relive each of the various episodes that appeared in the three works of Sega Saturn software ‘Panzer Dragoon’, ‘Panzer Dragoon Zwei’ and ‘Panzer Dragoon Saga’“, which makes it sound like a remake or reinterpretation of those 90s games. Specific platforms will be announced on a later date, including the unspecified “recording episodes”.

What’s clearer is that Voyage Record will feature a first-person view and an input method that makes your VR controller feel like a dragon rider’s handgun. The game is planned to be released during the 2020 Japanese Fiscal Year, which means somewhere between now till March 2021.

This isn’t the only upcoming Panzer Dragoon game; a remake for the Switch was revealed last year, and it will be on Steam too. Still, riding a dragon in VR sounds cool as heck.
