Square Enix has announced that Marvel’s Avengers will also be available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X as launch titles ins holiday 2020, although the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia versions are still planned for 4 September 2020.

What’s even better is that players who own the current-gen version of Marvel’s Avengers will be able to upgrade to the next-gen version for free, either from PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X, with even save data carrying over.  There will also be cross-gen play between PS4 and PS5 players, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X players.

According to PlayStation Blog, the PS5 version of the game will feature “extremely fast load times, boosted resolution and fidelity, improved texturing and armour destruction, ray tracing, and more”, as well as an “Enhanced Graphics Mode” and “High Frame Rate Mode”.

The High Frame Rate mode for Marvel’s Avengers on the PS5 will targets 60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution. However, information on Xbox Series X, Stadia, and PC specific features will be announced at a later date.
