Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Job Changes & Adjustments Will Build On 5.0 Updates

Jobs will be getting a shakeup in Final Fantasy XIV and its upcoming expansion Endwalker, according to its producers.

Producer Naoki Yoshida stated on a Letter from the Producer livestream recently that the job changes for FFXIV’s many classes will “build upon 5.0 adjustments”. This means more actions will be added and recast times will be changed up.

Specifically, FFXIV job ability timers will be changing to different cycles, depending on the class’ abilities. Recast time of primary abilities will be adjusted to align with 60 or 120 second timers.

Yoshida also went into detail about the changes for the Tank and Melee DPS classes.

Tank

  • Using defensive enhancements at optimal times will grant greater benefits.
  • Adjustments will ensure combos are not broken by ranged attacks.
  • There will be parity between the physical and magical damage attributes of weapons at the same item level, and accompanying changes to action potencies.

Melee DPS

  • Feint’s effect will be changed to reduce physical damage dealt; this will also reduce magical damage dealt. Physical damage reduction will be more potent.
  • Adjustments will ensure combos are not broken by ranged attacks.
  • There will be parity between the physical and magical damage attributes of weapons at the same item level, and accompanying changes to action potencies.

Also, the game’s level cap will be raised to 90. The Endwalker expansion will be out on 23 November and will conclude the current storyline of the game, as well as add new Jobs like Reaper and Sage.
