Charlie Cox Will Return As Daredevil, Kevin Feige Confirms
By Alleef Ashaari|December 6, 2021|0 Comment
After months of rumours and speculation, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has finally confirmed who will be playing Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Yes, folks, Charlie Cox will indeed return and reprise his role as the Man Without Fear in the MCU.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, Kevin Feige surprisingly directly confirms that Charlie Cox is the MCU’s Daredevil. He said:
“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”
Charlie Cox portrayed Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil in three seasons on Netflix. Well, four seasons, if you count the one and only season of The Defenders, which featured three other major heroes (Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist).
This is a big deal for several reasons. Now that Charlie Cox is confirmed to reprise his role as Daredevil, there’s nothing stopping the other Marvel Netflix characters from coming to the MCU properly. These include not only the aforementioned Defenders but also Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and most interestingly, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk AKA the Kingpin.
This is especially interesting considering that the latest episode of Disney+ Hotstar’s Hawkeye seems to be teasing the return of the Kingpin as the true antagonist of the series. However, Kevin Feige stopped short of revealing where or when Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Daredevil, so we’ll have to wait and see.
