Next PlayStation To Be Powered By AMD’s Latest Navi & Ryzen 2 Tech

It turns out that the next PlayStation will be powered up by the hardware company’s latest processors according to recent Computex news.

During the AMD Computex 2019 keynote in Taiwan, the company will be helping out Sony PlayStation to power up its PS5/next-gen console. It will be brandishing a customized version of AMD’s Zen 2 processor (3rd-gen Ryzen CPUs) and its new Navi architecture GPU, the Radeon RX 5000.

So what’s cool about the Radeon RX 5000 family set of GPUs? Well, it:

  • improves efficiency and increases instructions per cycle
  • has multi-level cache hierarchy with RDNA architecture
  • delivers better gaming performance at a lower power consumption and reduced latency; we’re talking up to 25 percent higher performance-per-clock and up to 50 percent higher performance-per-watt.

These additions seem to coincide with the new console’s need to load games superfast. Stay tuned to Kakuchopurei for more game-related Computex 2019 updates.
