Snyder Cut Movement Teases Something Big For Justice League Movie Anniversary

The ‘Release The Snyder Cut’ movement is picking up again on after trending worldwide once again, as many of the people involved with making 2017’s Justice League have been teasing the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and releasing new images from the Snyder’s version of the movie leading to its two-year anniversary on 17 November 2019.

It all started when Aquaman actor Jason Momoa recently confirming that he’s seen the Snyder cut of Justice League, as well as saying that “the public needs to see it”. Composer Tom Holkenborg AKA Junkie XL also fueled the flames last month when he confirmed that he did indeed completed the score for the Snyder cut of Justice League before Warner Bros. ultimately replaced his score with Danny Elfman’s.

Other members of the crew, from VFX supervisors to the aerial second unit director, have joined in the Snyder Cut movement, further strengthening the notion that it truly exists and is almost certainly ready for release, despite what Warner Bros. has been claiming.

However, the biggest spark came from director Zack Snyder himself, who only last week published a never-before-seen image from his cut of the Justice League movie, depicting Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen and Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West in what seems to be a cute romantic moment between the two.

Snyder Cut 1

Just two days ago, Momoa posted another never-before-seen image from the Snyder Cut of Justice League, this time showing Aquaman impaling the movie’s antagonist Steppenwolf from behind with his trident (which was not included in the theatrical version of the movie that was released.

Justice League artist Jay Oliva posted a storyboard image from the Snyder Cut of Justice League on his personal Twitter account, depicting Superman delivering an earth-shattering punch against Steppenwolf while bombarding him with his heat vision beams.

Cyborg actor Ray Fisher also chimed in just yesterday, as he posted a never-before-seen image from the Snyder Cut of Justice League on his personal Twitter account, depicting a pre-Cyborg Victor Stone smiling and sitting outside the dean’s office while his mother, Elinore Stone played by Karen Bryson, is inside talking to the dean. This scene would have fleshed out Cyborg’s character arc had it been included in the theatrical cut.

With the ‘Release The Snyder Cut’ hashtag increasingly becoming more prevalent as Justice League two-year anniversary inches closer, we might have to brace ourselves for something big to finally happen. It remains to be seen if something will happen since it’s ultimately up to Warner Bros.

If we’ll ever get to see the Snyder Cut of Justice League, then it should be now as the movement is at its peak. With Joker‘s box office revenue almost reaching one billion at the time of writing, Warner Bros has more to gain from releasing the Snyder Cut rather than keeping it hidden in the vault.
