DC’s Stargirl Is Returning For A Second Season
By Alleef Ashaari|July 8, 2020|0 Comment
DC’s Stargirl has been renewed for a second season only halfway through its first season. The first season is currently airing every Wednesday, same day as the U.S. at 9.50pm on Warner TV (Astro Channel 712 HD / UnifiTV Channel 451).
DC’s Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The series focuses on the character that started creator Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane crash.
It stars Brec Bassinger, Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Jake Austin Walker, Hunter Sansone, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson and Christopher James Baker.
Geoff Johns himself executive produces DC’s Stargirl with Melissa Carter, who serves as co-showrunner, as well as Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Greg Beeman.
The series is great for presenting comic book themes of legacy and heroism, as Courtney strives to build a new version of the classic Justice Society of America (JSA). For those unfamiliar, the JSA was the precursor to the Justice League in DC Comics, featuring Golden Age heroes like the original Alan Scott Green Lantern, Wildcat, and of course, Starman.
DC’S Stargirl is one of three DC shows currently available on WarnerMedia platforms. New episodes of Pennyworth Season 1 debut exclusively on Warner TV (Astro Channel 712 HD / UnifiTV Channel 451) every Monday at 9pm, while anew episode of Doom Patrol Season 2 is released every Friday on HBO GO.
